This is a very moving video about the pilot who was originally scheduled to fly Flight 11 on Sept. 11, 2001, one of the planes that was hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center. His connecting of the substitutionary nature of his colleague’s death to the greater substitution of Jesus Christ for his sins and the sins of the whole world is a powerful testimony to the gratitude that a Christian feels. We all live at the grace of our Lord, “on borrowed time”, as Pilot Scheibner puts it so well. We do not know when our last day will come, or when the last day of the world will come. So let us go in peace and serve the Lord every day, in gratitude, in hope, and in love, and in God’s promises in Jesus Christ.
